“He is not an athlete, a long-distance runner, even if the physique suggests it at first glance. Two mischievous little eyes sunk into a Churchill face supported by a massive, square yet stocky body of a rugby scrum half, all ending in short arms and short, arched legs. He is a walker who is not afraid of long hikes in hills and valleys. He walks, in regular strides, his back arched, leaning forward, his head tucked into his shoulders, sure and assured of having given everything the best of himself for posterity.

This man did not write and yet as soon as he has his old Nikormat in his hand, his objective, immediately fixed and screwed, consists in bringing back full focal length photos, photos that speak to history and for history. That makes several hundreds of thousands of archived films covering political, economic, armed conflicts, sporting events, etc. which took place in the islands of the Indian Ocean, Africa Latin America, South-East Asia (Philippines) and finally Europe, 3 World Cups of football, 1 World Championship of Basketball -Women's ball (Brazil), Olympic Games in Mexico.

As far as Madagascar is concerned, it is an entire section of its contemporary history that he has in turn, lived or set on objective. Among other events: the last years of the colonial period, the events of 1947 which he lived at the age of 14, the times of the Framework Law known as the Gaston Defferre Law, the Socialist in 1950, the trip of General De Gaulle for the referendum of 1958, the proclamation of the Malagasy Republic of October 14, 1958 and that of independence on June 26, 1960.
